Peppermint Foot Soak
Take the load off with our fairtrade certified Peppermint Foot Soak. Peppermint has a cooling and soothing effect on the skin, due to its high levels of menthol, and we decided this was a feeling that we thought was very apt for a bit of foot care – There’s nothing better than a soothing soak after being on your feet all day. Peppermint Essential Oil naturally cleanses the skin and has antiseptic and antibacterial properties too, which are never a bad thing!
We use Epsom Salts in our Foot Soaks, as they are a great aid at improving the body’s natural detoxifying process. It softens rough dry skin and exfoliates dead skin cells, soothing the new skin underneath while doing so. It also offers pain relief and can help to reduce swelling, which our feet can be prone to do after being stuck in tight shoes so often. It is rich in Magnesium, which is a natural substance that helps a variety of bodily functions, especially the removal of toxins, therefore giving your feet a thorough refresh.
We also use a mixture of Sea Salt and Dead Sea salt within our foot soaks. Salt in general is a great exfoliator and through floating around in our Bath Soaks, helps to rid your feet of any of the dead skin cells that may be lingering. It is also known to help you relax, ease achey muscles and stimulate circulation, therefore helping your skin feel, and look, healthier, We use the Dead Sea Salt as it has less Sodium Chloride than normal Sea Salt, which in turn means there is more room for other minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. This means that it has healing benefits as well, so can help to improve the function of the skin barrier, making it stronger in general. Using a combination of the two means that we can get all the best bits from the minerals of the Dead Sea, but also retain the benefits that come from the salt from the Sea, therefore helping to rejuvenate your feet.
We really want to provide a soothing and healing experience for your feet with this soak, and so including Tea Tree Oil seemed like a no brainer. This oil has antibacterial properties and speeds up wound healing, while also providing a cooling effect, similarly to Peppermint, to stall the feeling of sore skin.
Other ingredients include: Sodium Bicarbonate, to help balance out the pH levels in your skin; Olive Oil, to make your feet feel silky smooth; Lavender Essential Oil, for its calming aromas; and Grapefruit Seed Extract, which has further antibacterial properties.
